At an unidentified future date, the nation of Panem has risen out of the ruins of what was once known as North America, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games.

Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcast throughout Panem. The 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors. When 16-year-old Katniss' young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district's female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.

Zartan and the Commander now have all the world leaders under Cobra's control, with warheads headed towards innocent populaces. However, despite his efforts to make his wife fall in love with him again, Paige doesn't recover her feelings for him. Leo's family and friends advise him to let go and move on with his life.

During an interview on Live! with Kelly, McAdams revealed that the film is based on a real life couple, Kim and Krickitt Carpenter. The wife, Krickitt, never regained her memory, but the couple are still married and have two children.

Radcliffe plays Arthur Kipps, a struggling attorney unable to get past his wife’s death in childbirth four years before. Arthur Kipps is facing financial problems along with stress from his employers. He’s sent out to the creepy Drablow house in the middle of a marsh to collect the widow Drablow’s papers after her death, where she had lived with her husband, son Nathaniel, and sister, Jennet Humfrye (Liz White).

The house is creepy, the townspeople are terrified, and after Kipps sees a mysterious woman in black in the graveyard outside the mansion, children in the village start dying in horrific ways. Arthur discovers that Nathaniel drowned during a carriage accident, and Alice's sister Jennet hanged herself. Arthur also discovers notes claiming that Jennet was mentally unstable and was not allowed to care for Nathaniel, who was actually her son, though this fact was hidden by Alice, who raised him as her own. The townspeople want Kipps to leave but he refuses. He has many paranormal experiences with the woman dressed in black and all the children that committed suicide.

An ex-cop (Sam Worthington) turned con threatens to jump to his death from a Manhattan high-rise  Roosevelt Hotel rooftop. The nearest New York Police officer immediately responds to a screaming woman and calls dispatch. More Officers arrive with SWAT and tactical command along with fire-fighters. The police then dispatches a female police psychologist (Elizabeth Banks) personally requested to talk him down from the ledge. However, things aren't as straightforward and clearcut as they appear to be.

Sam Worthington's playing an ex-cop who's escaped prison to prove his innocence by showing he’s been framed by a dirty-rat tycoon (Ed Harris, way too good for this crap). While the cop's brother (Jamie Bell) works the case on the ground and a negotiator Elizabeth Banks) tries to talk down.
